Preparing for the Class
In this special cooking class, you learn more than just a recipe. Chef Daya will teach us techniques that can be used again and again.
You’ll learn and cultivate kitchen skills that can be used in a multitude of dishes. (after the class, we’ll send out step-by-step notes via email—but we strongly encourage you to take your own notes during class!)

Pan-Seared Gulf Catch with Local Greens Kachumbari
A light, delicious main entree featuring Kachumbari. An homage to Black History Month, Kachumbari is an East African Salad enjoyed especially in Kenya and Tanzania. Kachumbari is the Swahili name for “fresh Tomato and Onion Salad” — the base being tomatoes and onions, and the rest is up to the cook.
You’ll need this from the store:
