When did you first get started?

I was introduced to relief printmaking, or blockprinting, by a friend in 2017 while living in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I never looked back!

What inspired you to start your business?

My hands are always itching to be busy with an art project and selling my art funds that need! I love selling art and interacting with customer who connect with the themes in my work. Selling art has been a great way to find a community within art.

It is a lot of fun to source thrifted items and print on them! I love producing those goods as well as multi-layer art prints; the process of registering prints so the layer line up is very satisfying.

I grew up in San Diego, CA and had lived exclusively on the west coast until moving to Galveston in 2020.

  • Kristen Anne Fibers

    Kristen Anne Fibers

    Say hi to Kristen!

    About Kristen Anne Fibers

Kristen Anne Fibers is a textile business in Galveston, Texas, creating hand knotted macrame textiles. From baskets to large scale fiber art installations, every pattern I design is a challenge to my imagination as I continually dig further into discovering who I am as an artist & how deeply I’m capable of creating.

When did you first get started?

I started Kristen Anne Fibers as the pandemic was beginning in 2020. I had decided to leave my desk job & return to my creative roots. Although, I had never actually had any previous experience with macrame or any type of fiber art. But, the first time I saw a macrame textile, it was just this an unexplainable click. I’ve spent the past 4 years digging into the art form and settling into my place within it.

What inspired you to start your business?

The beginning of the pandemic was a 100% a season of shedding an old skin for me. The 9-5 that had been keeping me in my safety net was no longer enough to get me up everyday, and for the first time in years I was deciding to become an active participant in my own life. Stepping out and leaving behind all the securities, and I mean ALLLL THE SECURITIES, I had become too used to in order to venture into a business where I am honestly still learning my craft every day was the beginning of me learning to want the uncomfortable and to always follow the dream that makes me the most nervous to go after.

What is your favorite thing to make/produce?

There is nothing better than settling into a large scale macrame wall textile.

Where are you from/where did you grow up?

I am from ETX, super small town life my whole life until we moved to Galveston in October of 2024.

Share a fun fact about yourself you’d like your customers to know!

I also teach macrame online through a business I cofounded with my wife, The Inspiration Generator, that focuses on helping artist grow in their creativity and their entrepreneurship.
