    We’re looking for some blankets & sleeping bags to keep our unhoused neighbors warm this chilly season! Bring any of the following:

    • Blankets (new or used)

    and Grace Clinic will distribute them throughout the community!

    About Grace Clinic

    Grace Clinic is an interprofessional non-profit, UTMB student run clinic that provides a variety of medical needs to houseless and underinsured community members in Galveston. As Physical Therapy students who have seen firsthand the needs of these individuals, we are pursuing a project with support from the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship to provide seasonal care kits to those in need. We are collecting new or used blankets from the community to create Winter Care Kits to distribute in order to foster a system of neighbors supporting neighbors on the island.

    Gulf Coast Center provides accessible, efficient and quality services to support the independent and healthy living of those we serve. Every day, our counselors, therapists, psychiatrists, case workers, peers, support, and administrative staff help our clients get and stay healthy and achieve their greatest potential. We provide a range of services and support for people in Galveston and Brazoria counties with mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) needs. We also provide additional community services, including community education and disaster recovery support.

    From 1971 to 1986 the Galveston Arts Center, under the Galveston County Cultural Arts Council, Inc., grew to offer quality programs in the form of exhibitions, art education and public festivals for all the Galveston County area.     11/10 – Friends of the Rosenberg Library Bookshop Pop-Up & Turbo the READ Dog

    Get your paws on some fantastic gently-used book at the Book Shop Pop-Up by the Friends of the Rosenberg Library! With a wide selection of cookbooks, kids books, fiction, non-fiction, and more, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.

    Between 10 AM – 11AM, Turbo, the certified Reading Education Assistance Dog (READ), will also be ready to listen to stories from kids or adults! Practicing storytelling helps communication skills + reading skills, all while making a furry new friend.

    Kids Club is a non-profit organization within the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch, which encourages nursing students to come together who have a calling for general pediatrics!     GOFM Presents: 12th Annual Spooktacular Birthday Bash!

    In celebration of the market’s 12th anniversary & our fear-vorite holiday of the year – All Hallow’s Eve – GOFM will be hosting a marketful of spooky shenanigans! We’ll have:

    • Limited edition GOFM Jack O’ Lantern tote bag for the first 150 folks,

    • the first 100 folks can “trick or treat” at the Kids’ Coup tent for a ‘“Booberry Thumbprint” cookie by Food of Life,

    • tarot reading with lilith (come get your fortune read!),

    • one-of-a-kind face painting by Jessica Antonelli,

    • jack o’ lantern crafts with UTMB Kid’s Club,

    • performance by our very own Raa’ Tansiel,

    • at 10:00 AM, come march with us in our fa-boo-lous Costume Parade through the market,

    • at 10:30 AM, strike a pose & be judged in our Costume Contest – winner receives a FREE GOFM t-shirt!

    This event is free & open to everyone – all the ghouls, bats, and cats 😉

    10/20 – Clothing Swap at the Market!

    Wrangle up those unwanted pieces in your closet and bring them to the market to find a new home – at a Clothing Swap hosted by Elisabeth Joy with Luxe and Loam! 

    How does it work?

    1.   Bring any gently-used clothes/shoes by 11:00 AM

    2.   Drop them off at the Clothing Swap racks

    3.   ‘Shop’ for items you like – up to the same # of items you brought!

    4.   Any clothes left after market will go to Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County.

    Please aim to bring your goodies & shopping totes by 11:00 AM. Share the love and find new fabulous fits!

    Luxe & Loam is a creative space for Artist and Sewist, Elisabeth Joy, to rework and repair vintage and secondhand pieces into something that can be loved and worn once again. Elisabeth uses second hand fabrics as her canvas, and retro fashion influences as her inspiration. You’ll find anything from a repaired vintage pant, to a handmade quilted chore coat in her collections. You can find these one of a kind Luxe & Loam pieces at local pop-ups around Galveston, TX.
