Now Hiring: Food Access ADvocate
The Food Access Advocate (FAA) is a strategic and compassionate leader who will elevate GOFM’s Food Access Programming and increase the usage of SNAP & Market Match initiatives at our markets overall, and specifically among the Spanish-speaking LatinX community.
The FAA is an integral conduit between low-income households and GOFM’s many Food Access initiatives designed to bolster their fresh food-buying power, with focus on building pathways of outreach and communication with the Latinx Spanish-speaking community in Galveston county. They will be directly responsible for recruiting new Spanish-speaking households to utilize our SNAP & WIC incentives via GOFM’s online and open-air farmers market, and coordinate and expand the FreshBox deliveries to local families.
The Food Access Advocate is a part-time position (15hrs/wk) paid between $20-$23/hr. In a typical month, the FAA will spend time performing physical outreach to the LatinX and SNAP-eligible communities and at the open-air market orchestrating FreshBox activities and supporting market customers with SNAP & MarketMatch programming.
