We learned an important lesson this year when we made our last-minute OkraFest changes.
It wasn’t the okra-bedazzled fiesta we’d planned for, but we discovered that happy hour with our pals is LOTS of fun. And we think all of us deserve more fun.

2 garden hoses for our new public Victory Garden in Menard Park!
1 new wheelbarrow for a Young Gardeners Program school site
$20/month equals:
2 new replacement tents for the farmers market
vegetable seeds for 1 year of growing at 4 Young Gardeners Program school sites
$50/month equals:
vegetables, proteins and bread from our farmers market vendors to supply a FreshBox meal for 25 food-insecure families in Galveston
curriculum supplies for 6 months at 1 Young Gardeners Program school site (paper, pencils, crayons, glue, observation notebooks, rulers, etc.)

Perennial and native plants for landscaping the perimeter of our new Victory Garden in Menard Park!
