12/12 – Friends of GoFM Cocktail Hour

We learned an important lesson this year when we made our last-minute OkraFest changes.

It wasn’t the okra-bedazzled fiesta we’d planned for, but we discovered that happy hour with our pals is LOTS of fun. And we think all of us deserve more fun.

You’re invited to a special holiday mix & mingle between ‘Friends of GOFM’ and GOFM Staff & Board Members. Daiquiri Time Out is decked out in seasonal cheer with their ‘Miracle’ bar menu + decorations, so it’s the perfect time for us to make merry while celebrating the great folks who support Galveston’s Own Farmers Market.

    Double Your Impact

When you make a gift today, your donation is MATCHED dollar for dollar by a generous match from Mod Coffeehouse.

All gifts up to $2,000 will be matched until December 31.

    Where does your dollar go?

Here are just a few ways your donation funds our mission.

    $5/month:

    • The talents of a local musician at 1 Sunday market

    • 5 watering cans needed for our new Victory Garden at Menard Park

    • Ingredients needed for 2 ‘cooking days’ at a YGP school site (the kids love to transform their harvested produce into a meal, and these funds help purchase the things we can’t grow like olive oil, bread, etc.)

    $10/month equals:

    • 2 garden hoses for our new public Victory Garden in Menard Park!

    • 1 new wheelbarrow for a Young Gardeners Program school site

    $20/month equals:

    • 2 new replacement tents for the farmers market

    • vegetable seeds for 1 year of growing at 4 Young Gardeners Program school sites

    $50/month equals:

    • vegetables, proteins and bread from our farmers market vendors to supply a FreshBox meal for 25 food-insecure families in Galveston

    • curriculum supplies for 6 months at 1 Young Gardeners Program school site  (paper, pencils, crayons, glue, observation notebooks, rulers, etc.)

    $100/month equals:

    • Perennial and native plants for landscaping the perimeter of our new Victory Garden in Menard Park!

    • All the insurance coverage needed for GOFM’s multiple arms of programming!

    • The ingredients needed to host 20 Community Cooking classes in 2022!
