    3/16 – Buy Nothing

Want to declutter and do good? Join the fun of the Buy Nothing Project! This global movement is all about sharing, lending, and gifting within your local community. Drop off your gently used treasures or snag something you need. It’s a win-win: less waste, more joy!

It is as easy as 1-2-3:

    1. Bring up to 5 items MAX that you would like to give. Please no perishable food items!

    2. Take what you need or want.

    3. Any items left will be donated.

It’s a free-for-all of generosity! Give what you can, take what you need, or simply enjoy the community spirit. No strings attached, no quid pro quo. We’re all about the joy of giving without expecting anything in return. So, let’s keep the magic of pure gifting alive!

Sign up to Volunteer for Buy Nothing here>

    Dates:

    March 16, 2025

    9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

at Galveston’s Own Farmers Market (3304 Market, 77550)

    About the Buy Nothing.

Buy Nothing offers folks a way to give and receive, share, lend, and express gratitude through a worldwide network of micro-local gift economies in which the true wealth is the web of connections formed between people who are real-life neighbors. Post anything you’d like to give away, lend, or share in the Buy Nothing community group. Ask for anything you’d like to receive for free or borrow. Keep it legal. Keep it civil.

Buy Nothing Galveston, TX, is for neighbors on Galveston Island, TX, in the neighborhoods located within our boundaries (Galveston Island).

You can join one group only – the group where you live – so you can literally “give where you live.” This is what builds community. In this group there is no buying or selling, no trades or bartering, no soliciting for cash. It is an adult-only, hyper-local gift economy. Buy Nothing is not a charity or community bulletin board.
