¡Celebremos! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (9/15-10/15), Galveston’s Own Farmers Market is hosting a series of free & fun festive activities on October 1, 2023!
At 10 AM, we’ll have a free salsa lesson led by the amazingly talented Jessica Duarte from Danzica Latin Dance Studio! She’ll go over the basics that you can take home to practice. Come dressed as you are & don’t be shy – this is open to everyone!
At 11:30 AM, special guests from Burnet Ballet Folklorico Dance Team from Burnet Elementary will perform a traditional Hispanic Dance. They are raising money for their organization that will go towards purchasing traditional dresses & other club needs!
And available from 9 AM – 1 PM, we’ll be featuring tasty samples at our “What’s Going on with RFP” Booth, all ages can participate in decorating sugar skulls with UTMB’s Kid’s Club, Voter Registration, and of course, our local farmers market featuring local farmers & makers.

A las 11:30 am, invitados especiales del Burnet Ballet Folklorico Dance Team from Burnet Elementary. interpretarán una danza tradicional hispana. ¡Están recaudando dinero para su organización que se destinará a la compra de vestidos tradicionales y otras necesidades del club!
Y disponible de 9 am a 1 pm, presentaremos sabrosas muestras en nuestro stand “What’s Going on with RFP”, todas las edades pueden participar en la decoración de calaveras de azúcar con UTMB’s Kid’s Club y, por supuesto, nuestro mercado local de agricultores con agricultores y fabricantes locales.
